Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav chaired a review meeting on Tuesday to finalise arrangements for the Republic Day festivities. Besides the Deputy Commissioner, the Additional Deputy Commissioner and the leaders of all stakeholders present at the meeting also attended it.
Officials said they are making all necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth, orderly and dignified celebration. Authorities will conduct rehearsals for the Republic Day parade as per schedule, with participation from school and college students, police personnel and paramilitary forces. They have also directed departments to set up tableaux showcasing various government schemes, achievements and welfare initiatives.
The organizers will serve beverages and snacks to the school kids who are participants of the cultural programs and parade during their practice, as well as on the event day.
The transport division will allocate buses for the transportation of students, whereas the civil engineering division will take care of the venue’s basic amenities like seating arrangements, barricading, stage setup, lighting, and so forth.
The health department will provide ambulances and medical personnel during the rehearsals as well as the main event. The celebrations will particularly highlight the recognition of war veterans and war widows.
The Deputy Commissioner ordered all the departments to keep very good communication between them and to finish the tasks given to them within the time limits set in order to have a Republic Day function that is both orderly and deserving of the occasion.
