Raahil Rai, a final-year student of Punjab Engineering College (PEC), Chandigarh, topped the Tricity by scoring 99.95 percentile in the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025, the results of which were announced today.
“My entire preparation revolved around attempting as many mock tests as possible,” said Rai.
Kkanika of Army Institute of Law, Mohali, and Jia of NMIMS-Chandigarh got 99 percentile and 98.96 percentile respectively. Gurnoor of Ashoka University scored 98.68 percentile, then Ankit Kumar of GGDSD SD College, Sector 32 scored 98.6 percentile. Smridhi Aggarwal of Panjab University scored 98.5 percentile, Amrinderpreet of PEC, 98.41 percentile, Dhruv Kundrai of Chitkara University got 98.24 percentile and Abhinav Gupta of Panjab University got 97 percentile.
Kkanika said, “I concentrated on strengthening my weak areas and practised consistently, especially in the quantitative section, to eliminate frivolous mistakes.”
Commenting on the overall performance of candidates from the region, Hirdesh Madan, co-founder of Hitbullseye said “This year, city toppers are from diverse backgrounds including engineering, law, medical, humanities and commerce. It is a welcome change.”
CAT is a national-level competitive exam for MBA that opens the doors for the 21 IIMS and other top B-schools in India. There are two IIMS in this region-IIM-Amritsar and IIM-Sirmaur. Chandigarh’s leading MBA college, UBS (Panjab University) also admits students based on CAT scores.
About 6,500 Tricity students took the examination on November 30.
