Devika Sihag Makes History with Thailand Masters Triumph

Panchkula’s emerging badminton sensation Devika Sihag has made history on the international arena by claiming the Princess Sirivannavari Thailand Masters 2026 women’s singles title in Bangkok. The 20-year-old has won her first BWF Super 300 title, a historic moment in her life and a matter of pride for Indian badminton.

In the final, Devika faced Malaysia’s Goh Jin Wei, a two-time world junior champion. Devika dominated the first game with a convincing 21–8 win and was leading 6–3 in the second game when Goh Jin Wei retired due to a hamstring injury. With this, Devika has won the biggest title of her life so far at this USD 250,000 BWF World Tour tournament. This win has made Devika the third Indian woman to have won a BWF Super 300 singles title, joining the elite list of former champions such as PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal, one of the biggest achievements in her life.

Devika’s run to the title was quite remarkable throughout the Thailand Masters. She showed remarkable consistency and fighting spirit, beating tough opponents and demonstrating her all-round game as she progressed to the final. Her powerful smashes, clever placements, and composed mental attitude under pressure helped her overcome each round successfully.

Known as one of the brightest young hopes in Indian badminton, Devika trains under experienced coaches and has been steadily climbing the world rankings.Her triumph in Bangkok not only brings her a highly prestigious World Tour title but also marks the emergence of a new force in international women’s badminton.
