Amritsar, June 26, 2026: An academic meeting on “Recent Advances in Management of Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC)” was successfully organized on 26th June 2026 at Hotel Taj Swarna, Amritsar by the Chandigarh Healthcare & Academics Foundation (CHAF) in association with Max Super Speciality Hospital, Mohali and the Amritsar Gastro Sciences Forum (AGF).
The scientific session was delivered by Dr. Tegbir Singh Sidhu, Principal Consultant – Interventional Radiology, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Mohali, who presented the latest developments in the diagnosis and management of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), one of the most common primary liver cancers. The session focused on recent advances in interventional radiology, image-guided minimally invasive procedures, targeted therapies, immunotherapy, and the growing importance of a multidisciplinary approach in improving patient outcomes. Dr. Sidhu also discussed the role of Transarterial Radioembolization (TARE), an advanced liver-directed therapy that has emerged as an effective treatment option for selected patients with liver cancer. He highlighted its clinical benefits, patient selection, and its growing role in the multidisciplinary management of hepatocellular carcinoma.
The event witnessed the participation of leading gastroenterologists, physicians, surgeons, oncologists, and healthcare professionals from Amritsar and nearby regions, who actively engaged in discussions on evolving treatment strategies and real-world clinical experiences.
The academic meeting was hosted by the Amritsar Gastro Sciences Forum (AGF) under the leadership of Dr. Jagdeep Singh, President AGF and Dr. J.S. Sidhu, Secretary, AGF, whose efforts were instrumental in bringing together experts for this educational initiative. The organizers emphasized the importance of continuous medical education in ensuring that clinicians remain updated with the latest evidence-based practices for managing complex liver diseases.
