In the Chandigarh Mayor Election, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Yogesh Dhingra secured 11 votes, while Congress nominee Gurpreet Singh Gabbi received 7 votes. The voting process for all three posts commenced at 11 am and was conducted through a show of hands, in line with the provisions of the Municipal Corporation Act.
For the Mayor’s post, the BJP nominated Saurabh Joshi, the Congress fielded Gurpreet Singh Gabbi, and the AAP nominated Yogesh Dhingra. Candidates from all three parties, along with one independent councillor, contested the elections for the posts of Senior Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
