Kabir Nanda Joins Netflix’s Kohrra Season 2

Kabir Nanda

Kabir Nanda won hearts as a cricket-obsessed, love-struck teenager in Ankur Singla’s coming-of-age indie film Ghich Pich. Following the film’s phenomenal success, the Chandigarh-based actor now steps into a powerful new role in the critically acclaimed Netflix series *Kohrra Season 2*, which premieres on February 11.

Kohrra already carries emotional depth and audience trust,” says Kabir. “What drew me in wasn’t just the scale of the show, but the strength and sensitivity of the writing.”

Landing the role did not come easily. Casting director Nikita Grover auditioned Kabir twice before finalising him as Nihal Sood, the son of Mona Singh’s character, with Pradhuman Singh portraying his father.

The character of Nihal comes across as calm, grounded, and emotionally perceptive, traits Kabir brings to life through subtlety rather than words. “It was all about stillness, long pauses, and letting my eyes speak,” he explains, adding that the role helped him evolve significantly as a performer.

The team shot the series during peak winter to enhance its metaphorical tone, and Kabir admits that battling dense fog during late-night shoots proved challenging.

Co-writer Gunjit Chopra played a key role in helping Kabir shape his performance, while co-directors Sudip Sharma and Faisal Rahman fostered an environment that encouraged confidence and creative exploration.

With upcoming projects such as Dice Media’s Ikatthe and a feature film in the pipeline, Kabir continues to juggle acting alongside his family business ,something he believes keeps him grounded. “Ferozepur gave me values, Chandigarh gave me confidence, and Mumbai is teaching me patience,” he reflects.

Driven by emotionally honest, morally complex, and character-driven narratives, Kabir remains clear about his artistic vision. “I want to be part of stories that stay with people long after the screen fades,” he says.
