Meet the 2026 Kia Seltos: A Mid-Size SUV Packed With Innovation

Kia Seltos

Kia India has officially launched the all-new 2026 Seltos, with prices starting at ₹10.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Unlike a simple facelift, this marks a full generational upgrade, offering a larger footprint, a more premium cabin, and an advanced array of technology and safety features compared to the previous model.

Bigger, Stronger, and More Refined

The 2026 Seltos rides on Kia’s new global K3 platform, enhancing structural rigidity, handling, and interior space. It measures around 4,460 mm in length and 1,830 mm in width, with a 2,690 mm wheelbase, making it one of the roomiest SUVs in its segment and improving passenger comfort.

Kia’s updated Opposites United design language gives the SUV a modern and assertive stance, featuring a sharper Digital Tiger Face grille, Ice Cube LED projector headlamps with Star Map LED DRLs, and connected LED tail lamps. Depending on the variant, buyers can choose from different skid plate finishes and wheels up to 18 inches.

Higher trims offer premium touches like flush automatic door handles, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, and an integrated rear spoiler, enhancing the vehicle’s upscale appeal.

Interior, Technology, and Comfort

The cabin has been redesigned for space, luxury, and technology. Most variants now feature the “Trinity Panoramic Display Panel,” a 30-inch setup combining dual 12.3-inch screens for the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system, along with a separate display for climate controls.

Premium features include:

  • 10-way powered driver seat with memory
  • Ventilated front seats with relaxation mode
  • Dual-zone automatic climate control
  • 64-colour ambient lighting
  • Rear AC vents and rear centre armrest
  • Spacious 447-litre boot

Connectivity and infotainment are strong suits, offering wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8-speaker Bose premium audio system, and Kia Connect 2.0, which provides OTA updates, remote vehicle functions, and diagnostics.

Powertrains and Transmission

The new Seltos continues with the familiar 1.5-litre engine options, refined for smooth performance and fuel efficiency:

  • 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol (~115 bhp, 144 Nm) with manual or CVT
  • 1.5L turbo-petrol (~160 bhp, 253 Nm) with 6-speed iMT or 7-speed DCT
  • 1.5L diesel (~116 bhp, 250 Nm) with 6-speed manual or automatic

All engines power the front wheels, and disc brakes are standard across the lineup.

Advanced Technology, Connectivity, and Safety

Kia has equipped the 2026 Seltos with a host of features, positioning it among the most advanced in its class:

  • Kia Connect 2.0 with OTA updates and remote diagnostics
  • Wireless smartphone integration
  • Smart key with proximity unlock
  • 360-degree surround camera and blind view monitor (higher trims)
  • Wireless charging and illuminated switches (select variants)

Safety features include six airbags, ABS, ESC, Hill-Start Assist, TPMS, ISOFIX mounts, and a Level-2 ADAS suite offering around 21 functions such as adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, forward collision avoidance, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Overall Positioning

With larger dimensions, premium technology, enhanced safety, and versatile powertrain options, Kia aims to make the 2026 Seltos a compelling choice in India’s mid-size SUV segment. It targets buyers seeking comfort, space, and advanced features without a substantial price increase over the previous generation.
