Swadeshi Fair Panchkula Sector 5: Everything You Need to Know

Swadeshi Mela

Inauguration and Distinguished Presence

A ten-day Swadeshi Fair kicked off its activities officially on Friday at the Parade Ground in Sector 5, Panchkula. This fair, which is the initiative of the Swadeshi Jagran Manch, will be open to the public till December 28

Haryana BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli officiated the inauguration by lighting the lamp. Swami Sampurnanand Maharaj and RSS leader Pawan Jindal attended the event as special guests.

Swadeshi as the Path to a Self-Reliant India

Among the present were some notable dignitaries like Gyan Chand Gupta, the former Speaker of Haryana Assembly, Kulbhushan Goyal, the Mayor of Panchkula, Rajneesh Garg, the fair organising committee chairman, and Rajesh Goyal, the North Zone Coordinator.

Mohan Lal Badoli, in his speech, pointed out that the use of swadeshi is not only a modern-day requirement but also a necessity for the future. He predicted that the future would be of native products and the fair was a step towards a self-sufficient India. He further said that the use of swadeshi products not only boosts the country’s economy but also helps the local craftsmen and small industries directly.

Pawan Jindal, the RSS leader, considered the fair to be more than an exhibition and called it a means of increasing social consciousness. He further stated that in the present-day interconnected world, swadeshi must thus associate with India’s economic, social, and cultural empowerment.

Rajesh Goyal, the Swadeshi Jagran Manch’s North Zone Coordinator, regarded the fair as a vital spot for the artisans, small-scale industries, and the domestic manufacturers. He told that the main purpose is to spread the word about swadeshi and persuade people to opt for native products instead of foreign ones.

Heritage Corner Highlights India’s Cultural Traditions

The fair showcases a wide variety of items including not only khadi clothing but also organic food products. Among the many attractions, the Heritage Corner stands out, displaying objects that signify India’s opulent cultural traditions. Visitors are drawn to the display of clay stoves, earthen and brass utensils, traditional kitchen tools, and household articles once used by grandparents.
